Saving a Life is as Easy as A-E-D

In the time it takes you to read this information, sudden cardiac arrest will have claimed another victim.  Statistics show that more than 300,000 Americans die of sudden cardiac arrest every year.  Up to 50,000 of these deaths could have been prevented if someone had initiated the Cardiac Chain of Survival, and an automated external defibrillator (AED) had been available for immediate use at the time of the emergency.

The American Red Cross Can Facilitate Your Purchase of AEDs

To help meet its mission of saving lives the Red Cross has formed relationships with four AED manufacturers to allow chapters the opportunity to facilitate the purchase of AED devices for customers:

  • Cardiac Science
  • Phillips Health Care Group formerly Philips Medical Systems
  • Physio-Control, a division of Medtronic
  • ZOLL Medical Corporation

If your company is interested in obtaining an AED, contact Marianne Ansart at ansartm@oregonpacific.redcross.org or 541-344-5244 or click on the link below to be transferred to a manufacturer's Web site to complete a purchase.  A portion of the purchase price goes back to your local chapter to support services and activities in you community.
